We'd like to invite all of our friends, customers, associates, race team members, and anyone else to participate in our new blog. We are first and foremost a family bicycle shop and hope to build a really big family of folks who want to be fit, have a lot of fun, and potentially help out mother earth.

If you'd like to meet the rest of the gang that makes up the core of The Bike Palace, go here. Each of these individuals has been handpicked as experts in their field, but also because they are fun to be around.

One of our major goals is to see to it that everyone who walks through our doors will be properly outfitted to maximize their bicycling experience. We earnestly believe that getting on a bike is one of the most enjoyable things to do on this planet, and we want to encourage lots more folks to do the same.

To that end, we maintain a HUGE inventory of great bikes, accessories, clothes, shoes, helmets, and water bottles.

Nirve Brings Back AKU in Its Ladies Beach Cruiser Line (video) and Companion Classic (shown)

Electra Beach Cruisers Are the Talk of the Strand and the Inland Empire

Whether you are just a few blocks from the beach like The Bike Palace or enjoy riding along one of the bicycle paths next to LA's many rivers, Electra has plenty of great beach cruisers to choose from. The Hawaii line is hugely popular with the ladies of all ages, right down to the training wheel 16" version. Here is a quick video from owner Tony Jabuka on the attributes of the Electra line.

The Bike Palace in San Pedro California is NOT Going Out of Business

You could be forgiven for thinking so, given the huge discounts and sale prices being offered by The Bike Palace. Folks from Long Beach, Lomita, Torrance, Lakewood, Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, and the whole Long Beach area are streaming into the most amazing sale anyone in the bike biz has ever seen. It is a seven week sale, and The Bike Palace is only into the 4th week starting today.

Tony, the owner, says that his staff is worn out by the constant flow of traffic, but it is great fun to meet so many new customers, and help them get started in the sport. But he concludes: "We are definitely not going anywhere. We will be here to serve your needs for another few decades!"

The Bike Palace Sponsors MS Ride to Help Raise $1,000,000

To help win the fight against MS and to provide more opportunities for cyclists to have fun with their ride, The Bike Palace will be part of a MS Tour beginning on October 11,2008. 2500 riders will strike out from Irvine, Ca. (Orange County) and finishing in San Diego, Ca. with an overnight stay and festival in Carlsbad. Total ride will be 150 miles over the two days. While the ride would be fun to do anyway, the reason behind this event is to raise $1,000,000 in the fight to find a cure for MS.

This ride was known as the MS150, and is one of over 100 such rides in the US to benefit MS. The new name for the ride is Bike to the Finish and this tour is specifically known as the Bay to Bay Tour. For details go here.
PV Bicycle Center is a key sponsor of the event, providing discounts on all products (except bicycles) for those who participate in the ride. In addition The Bike Palace is hosting training rides and will be doing a safety class.

The Bike Palace is also putting a team together for the tour. Each team member would raise money for MS, but MS provides a detailed instruction for how to do that. It will be easy to raise the needed funds. Nuitrition for the Cyclist is a Big Deal at The Bike Palace

Two of our staff members are now certified by BG to provide you with a comprehensive bike fitting. We will evaluate your specific body geometry, check out how you are positioned on the bicycle, and do a flexibility assessment. When you get the works, the resulting proper fit will optimize pedaling efficiency, increase all-around comfort, end hand, arm, neck, posterior, and back pain plus protect your precious knees.

The Bike Palace has invested in state-of-the-art equipment to insure that we are providing you with the very best fit possible.

Depending on the extent of the fit you sign up for, the process can take from 40 minutes to 2 hours. Therefore all fittings are done by appointment only.
